Time for more eternal gales isat au, this time featuring Sier as Isabeau, creating a sprite I can never use next to Aris’ because despite my best efforts it would make them look tall
#keese draws#eternal gales#oc#oc art#isat#in stars and time#this one didn’t take nearly as long as the aris one but I think I suffered for it more from the clothes alone#siffrin made me forget I suck at drawing clothes rip#this was also harder because of how much trickier it was to try and adapt siers design to feel fitting enough for my standards#they have a very stylized design compared to most of the others#I kind of took the lazy route out by keeping most of their original shapes in tact but it’s fine#sier in this au would serve the needed role of emotionally intelligent bestie who is also too scared to cross boundaries to do much#but despite this I do think they’d actually get the suspicion quest in this au#mostly because mase is a furry artist not a nerd and sier would be more likely to look at aris and go bro. are you in a fucking timeloop.#it also differs in that aris doesn’t yell at sier abt it instead looping before they can finish because she can’t handle hearing them be#right on the money about this thing that she thought she was handling perfectly#she doesn’t want to fail them she doesn’t want them to realize she’s failed them she doesn’t want to be a burden she doesn’t want them to#‘realize’ they’re better off without her#aris is Incredibly resistant to accepting help on most serious issues because shes convinced that it’s her responsibility to deal with it#by herself and that if she can’t then she’s a failure and worse than useless#I mean in canon eternal gales she literally loses her eye and arm because of that#in this au she just lost them how sif lost his eye but she still has. complexes abt all that.#but yeah sier also differs wildly from isa in many Many other ways as does the rest of the cast from their assigned characters#for sier they rly aren’t the jock of the group at all instead being more of the guy who keeps the mood lighthearted at all times lest they#die of stress because the others haven’t said anything in a whole 30 seconds#aka they’re the self assigned peacekeeper who doesn’t actually need to constantly keep the peace because no one’s fighting but they still#feel like they need to so they dance and dance and dance for their friends until they collapse from exhaustion#metaphorically ofc#this is why they’re both terrified to confront aris when she starts acting a bit fucked up but also why they still do sometimes anyways#they talk abt this a lil bit in their friend quest as they talk abt how they want to change but are scared to

The sound of the merriment from the feast faded into the background as I stepped out into the corridor. It was far too loud for me to handle Thor and his friends loudly shouting over each other, smashing their goblets... They had always teased me about not caring much for parties and festivities, about always having such a low social battery. But it wasn't something I could help. I longed for the quiet and solitude of the palace library, preferably with Loki's company.
I quickly but quietly made my way down the corridors of the palace in case Sif came to look for me to drag me back to the feast to try and get me to drink more mead. I would fall on my face after two goblets. Me being a lightweight was another thing they liked to tease me about.
I made it to the doors of the library, hoping to slip in there without making too much noise, but the familiar sound of a silken voice caused me to nearly jump out of my skin.
"Tired of the festivities already, are we?"
I turned to find Loki leaning against the wall of the corridor, so still and casual, that I didn't know how long he had been standing there, watching me. I placed a hand over my heart, trying to calm myself.
We had been meeting each other in secret for the past couple of months, stealing kisses when meeting up in the woods and empty corridors. He never failed to make my heart race when he stood before me, appraising me with those smoldering green eyes.
"I wish you wouldn't sneak up on me like that."
"Sorry, love. I saw you leaving the feast and knew I couldn't leave you alone in such a big palace, and let you get lost..." he said while moving closer to me.
I rolled my eyes. "You were tired of the loudness of it all too, weren't you?"
"Of course. I don't like loud gatherings anyway... I can only handle so much of my brother's idiocy." He smirked, his gaze never leaving me.
I felt my cheeks heat up as my hands fidgeted. "I plan to spend the rest of the feast in the library... would you care to join me, my prince?"
A soft chuckle escaped Loki's lips as he stepped forward to practically tower over me. He never failed to make my knees weak with his height, when I was not even short myself. He brought one hand up to gently caress my chin as he lifted my eyes to meet his.
"Nothing would make me happier, love."
We snuck into the library together, the silence of the room during nighttime pressing down on us as we walked through the shelves of books together. The moonlight softly illuminated the large tomes on the towering shelves as it poured in from the tall stained glass windows. The absence of the librarian and other patrons browsing the books made the place feel like a desolate land, filled with forgotten stories.
Being in here alone at night always felt strange to me. It carried a serene peacefulness but at the same time, it felt eerie. Sometimes I could see the shadows dancing in the corners of the room as if the characters from the stories were trying to get free, but when I looked closer, nothing was there. But having Loki with me felt like we had an entire kingdom to ourselves.
I quietly made my way to my favorite armchair near the fireplace, picking up the novel I had been reading. I turned to the fireplace to light it with some flint, but Loki was already using his magic to instantly cause the hearth to burst to life, illuminating that area in a soft orange glow.
Footsteps echoed behind me as he made his way around my chair to peer over my shoulder. I blushed when I felt his warm breath on my neck as his lips ghosted over the shell of my ear. "Loki..."
"Yes, love?"
"What are you doing?"
I could feel him chuckle softly as he brought his arms around me and rested his chin on my shoulder. "I can't help myself, love. You look simply ravishing."
His voice seemed to go straight through me to the pit of my stomach. I sighed and closed my book, turning to face him. He didn't waste any time and crushed his lips into mine.
I brought my hands up to wound through his silken raven-black hair, kissing him back passionately. Despite our many meetings, his kisses never failed to make my heart race and my thighs tremble.
When I felt his tongue slither its way into my mouth, I couldn't hold back a soft moan. He made a soft sound between a moan and a sigh as his lips trailed down to my neck, leaving small bites there.
"Oh, how I love that sound..."
I shivered slightly. "Loki, don't..."
"Hmm? Don't what?"
"If you leave a mark on my neck, Thor, Sif, and the others are not going to let me hear the end of it."
Loki didn't relent with his kisses. "Mmm... maybe I want to leave my mark on you... let the others know who you belong to."
I couldn't resist him when he talked to me in that voice. It sounded like velvet to my ears, and I felt myself tilting my head to give him easier access to my neck.
"I want you," he whispered against my ear, his teeth gently tugging at my earlobe. The sensation caused a strange sensation in my loins.
I sighed, turning my head. Embarrassment filled me as I felt him leave more intoxicating kisses over my neck and up my face. He noticed my hesitation and looked at me, a frown creasing his handsome face. "Am I hurting you, love?"
I shook my head. "No... I want you too, Loki... but... I-I've never... I don't have any experience with..."
Loki smiled softly and pressed his lips to my cheek gently. "Such an innocent little princess... I know you don't, love... but I can teach you. But only if you want me to."
I closed my eyes and kissed him again, breathing in his scent, trying to memorize every little detail of him. I had always found comfort in his scent; warm and earthy, like the woods on a warm day, but also with sweet floral undertones. It was something no cologne or perfume could ever replicate.
"Yes..." I whispered against his lips. "I want you to show me..."
He smiled against my lips, his breath hot against my skin. "I can give you pleasure that you've never felt before..."
He took my hand and led me over to the sofa, pulling me into his lap. I gasped, wrapping my arms around his neck, trying to keep myself steady. When our lips met again, his hands gently stroked up my sides, as if feeling me up through the fabric of my dress.
When I felt his hands start to unfasten the back of my dress, I froze. He stopped.
"Do you not want to go through with it?"
I could feel my cheeks flame with embarrassment. "I-I do... but... here? What if someone walks in...?"
"No one is crazy enough to be in the library this time of night. No one except for us..." His smile made me melt like putty in his hands. He leaned forward to press his lips to my neck, and the feel of his lips made me shudder. "And if anyone does happen to walk in on us, I can use my magic to make us both invisible."
I closed my eyes, letting him kiss me again. I didn't want to admit that I was scared, but it all felt so strange to me. We'd never done anything more than kissing. But I wanted him, I truly did. Every fiber of my being craved him.
"You don't have to be afraid," he whispered while running his fingers through my hair before pulling me closer by the nap of my neck. "I'll take care of you. I'll guide you through the entire thing. You can trust me."
I nodded, resting my forehead against his. "I trust you..."
Loki's hands unfastened my dress, causing the snug fabric to loosen on me. He gently pulled the dress off my shoulders, pressing kisses to my skin as it was exposed. The warmth from the fireplace kept me from shivering, illuminating my skin with a warm glow.
A wave of self-consciousness came over me at the idea of being exposed to him, and my arms tightened around my midriff. He pressed gentle kisses to my exposed shoulders, his breath teasing my skin.
"You're so beautiful," he whispered against my shoulder as he trailed kisses up my neck. "You are truly the most beautiful woman in all of the Nine Realms. You are befitting for worship, like the goddess you are..."
His voice made me melt against him, my arms loosening from around me. He used this as an opportunity to pull my dress the rest of the way off my shoulders. "Says the god..." I whispered as he kissed down my back and he slid the sleeves off my arms, exposing my breasts.
My dress was now around my hips, and he pulled back to appraise me like he might a fine sculpture. My heart raced in my chest as I brought my arms up to cover my chest, but he shook his head, gently taking my hands into his to stop me.
"My love... if I had my way, you'd rule alongside me as my queen for all eternity. To me, you are a goddess." His lips pressed to my neck, and I felt like I could melt right into his hands. "Don't cover yourself. You're too beautiful. Allow me to worship you instead."
I couldn't speak, I was breathing too heavily, my heart racing erratically in my chest. Loki knelt before me like a devoted worshipper would to his goddess. It was such a strange sight to see him like this. He gently tugged the rest of my dress off my hips, causing it to fall into a pool around my feet.
My face was burning now, my hands covering my face so that I did not have to see his reaction to my naked body.
"My love... look at me," he said gently while taking my hands in his and kissing them gently. I looked down at him, my hair spilling over my shoulders and curtaining my face. He pushed a strand of hair behind my ears. "We can stop any time you want to."
I swallowed thickly. "I want you..."
"Then why do you hide from me? Why do you attempt to cover yourself?"
I bit my lip, bringing my eyes down to our joined hands. "I'm sorry, I just... I've never done this before... I don't... know how..."
He shushed me and gently kissed my neck, sending every nerve of mine on fire. "I'll show you how... but only if you trust me."
I tried to hold back my moan as he nibbled softly on my neck. "I trust you..." I whispered breathlessly as my hands wound through his raven locks.
His arms wrapped around both of my legs as he kissed down my neck until his mouth reached my breasts. I flinched when he took one nipple into his mouth, his green eyes glaring up at me as he gauged my reaction. My cheeks were aflame, and I knew it wasn't because of the fireplace. I leaned my head back, closing my eyes as I tried to focus on the feelings and sensations he was bringing me.
He spent time using his mouth on both of my breasts; kissing them and tugging the nipples into taut points with his teeth. The sensation was overwhelming for me, and I could do nothing but gasp and mewl, and then bite my lip in case someone might walk into the library and hear us.
"Please..." I whined, my hands fisting in his hair, unable to decide if I wanted to push his head away or pull him closer.
Loki brought one of his hands out from underneath my legs and pressed firmly on my clit. My eyes widened as an unbelievable amount of pleasure shot through me. When he started rubbing firm, slow circles, I thought I could see the Nine Realms behind my eyes. I couldn't hold my moans back this time. It wasn't as if I was foreign to this kind of pleasure. I had touched myself before; oftentimes when thinking about him. But the skill and pace at which he did this caused me to writhe and squirm in his arms.
"Does that feel good?" he whispered gently.
I nodded quickly, keeping my eyes screwed shut.
"And how many times have you touched yourself in this exact same way? While thinking about me...?"
I felt the color drain from my face. "S-Stay out of my head!" I snapped. I couldn't believe he was going to use his magic on me here.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he pressed kisses down my chest, traveling down between my thighs. "I apologize, my goddess. Will you forgive me for my transgressions?"
The moment I felt his mouth on my core, I gasped. I could feel his tongue probing at my folds, licking a stripe up my slit before settling on kissing and sucking on my clitoris.
I let out a sultry moan that I had no idea I was capable of making. "O-oh my gods..."
"Does this mean I am forgiven?"
It seemed like such a stupid question in a moment such as this. But he wanted an answer. When he pulled away briefly, I whimpered in frustration. "Loki... don't you dare stop..." My voice then softened. "Please..."
"You didn't answer my question. Am I forgiven?"
I gasped, my head falling on the couch. "Y-yes... just please... keep going..."
He hummed softly before bringing his mouth back to me, his tongue skillfully manipulating my clit. The pleasure I felt was nearly unbearable. My hands fisted back into his hair, and I pulled harder than I had intended. Instead of expressing pain, however, Loki moaned into my core, the sounds muffled by lewd slurping noises. I felt a tightening in my stomach as if I were a spring being tightly wound around the very being that was him. I didn't realize my legs were wrapped so tightly around his neck until I felt my heels dig into his back.
He continued to go down on me, glaring up at me occasionally as he watched my reaction. I let out a few soft moans, despite trying to hold back as much as possible.
I felt like the soft sounds that I was making would echo throughout the library, down the corridors, and into the feasting hall. I could just imagine Thor, Sif, and the warriors three overhearing us and coming to investigate, giggling and jeering like a group of drunken teenagers. If they caught me and Loki in here like this, they'd never let us hear the end of it.
I tried to shove those thoughts out of my head as Loki used both his tongue and his fingers to stimulate my clitoris, rubbing and licking faster. He used his fingers on my clit while alternating between giving my slit thorough licks and my clit firm sucks. He continued these ministrations until the tightening that had formed in my stomach unraveled, causing a wave of pleasure so strong to shoot through me, it felt like I had been taken under by a giant tidal wave, the ocean of ecstasy I was in throwing me around as I was completely powerless to stop it.
I heard an aria of moaning and mewling, and it took me a moment to realize that they were coming from my own mouth. I could feel Loki licking up every drop of my release as my hands convulsed in his hair, pulling hard.
The aftermath of my first orgasm left me dazed. I didn't realize how tightly my legs were wrapped around him until he had to pull them off his shoulders to pull away from me.
He wiped his mouth as he looked down at me, drinking in the sight of me lying on the couch. "Look at you... so limp and satisfied. You look so... exquisite spread out like that. Your breasts and cunt are swollen because of my attention. Your cheeks flushed and lips parted... your hair around you like a halo." He started undoing the buttons of his shirt. "You look every bit of a goddess as I am a god." He slid his shirt off his shoulders, revealing his lithe yet toned chest. I was still so dazed, all I could do was stare at him. "And now tonight, we will witness what happens when the gods make love."
He unfastened his belt, shimmying out of his trousers, the warm glow of the fireplace illuminating his divine figure. He was larger than what I had expected, and for a moment, I wondered how he was going to fit inside me. I wanted to get up off the couch and go to him, but my legs were so weak, I knew I would fall straight on my face.
Loki kicked his trousers to the side, getting down on all fours as he crawled towards me. The idea of what else he might have planned for us made my thighs clench in anticipation. He was soon kneeling in front of me, but instead of burying his face between my thighs again, he grabbed me by the hips and pulled me onto the floor on top of him, adjusting my legs to straddle his waist.
I clutched his shoulders to steady myself as he lifted my hips slightly off his lap to align his cock with my soaked slit. He pushed into me slowly, the feeling of him stretching me causing me to gasp, burying my face in his neck.
"Gods..." I moaned.
"Am I hurting you?" his silken voice whispered in my ear, warming my heart...and my loins.
I shook my head quickly, breathing in sharply, his warm scent filling my senses. He had stilled inside me, giving me time to adjust to his size. "No... I just feel... full."
He wrapped his arms around me, cradling my head like a child's. "I love you. Have I ever told you that before?"
I felt my heart skip a beat at this confession. "No. You haven't."
"Well, now you know. I've looked forward to this moment for so long... I've wanted to be tied to you in every way possible... both in mind... body... soul."
I gasped when I felt him thrust sharply into me, my hands gripping his shoulders. "L-Loki...!"
He groaned as his hands went down to grip my hips, lifting me only to push back into me again. "I love when you moan my name, love..."
I dug my nails into his shoulders, my breathing becoming more labored as his pace gradually increased, his hands controlling the rhythm even though I was on top of him.
Gathering my courage, I rolled my hips against his, a sharp sting of pleasure shooting through me as his cock pushed deeper inside me.
Loki stared up at me, his eyes glazed and his mouth open. "Gods... yes, love... roll your hips against mine... just... like... that..."
I gripped onto him, moving in time with his thrusts. All sense of insecurity or uncertainty had been peeled away from me, awakening a raw, primal need for him, and him alone.
Loki wound one hand through my hair before pressing his forehead against mine. Our breaths mingled together as our moans and heavy breaths made a symphony throughout the library.
My hips continued to bounce on top of his as if they were acting on their own accord. He was so deep inside me, I could feel the tip of his cock brush against my cervix.
I felt that familiar tightening in my stomach again, and the idea of having another powerful orgasm both scared and thrilled me. Loki's breath came faster, and his movements were more hurried as he must have been approaching the edge as well.
"Loki... I-I love you..." I broke out in a hushed whisper as I moved so fast, that my breasts were bouncing wildly.
He grunted, thrusting his hips forward at such a fast pace, my walls clamped hard around his cock while my back arched. I couldn't stop myself from screaming right in his ear during my second climax. One hand convulsed in his hair while the other clawed down his back.
He waited until I was in the throes of ecstasy before taking my nipple back into his mouth and biting down on it. He pumped his hips, allowing me to ride out my orgasm. He finally came, shooting his seed into me as he let the warm release seep through me. He groaned loudly, burying his face in my neck as he rode out his own climax.
When we finally stilled, I felt boneless and limp in his arms. We both lay there on the floor of the library, catching our breaths as we stared up at the ceiling that was adorned with intricate imagery during the daytime but was immersed in darkness with nothing but the dying fire in the hearth dimly illuminating our exhausted bodies.
"You were incredible, darling," he finally told me with his arms wrapped around me tightly. "A natural..."
I breathed in his scent deeply, burying my face in his chest. "Thank you... for showing me..."
His chuckle reverberated through his chest, vibrating against my ear. "You know once is never going to be enough, don't you?"
My eyes widened slightly. Loki took my hips and pulled out of me slowly before setting me gently down on the floor. "Not tonight, obviously. I don't want to render you unable to walk."
He lay down beside me on the floor of the library, using his magic to conjure a thin green blanket to cover both of us with. I was still dazed and exhausted from the evening's activities, but I used what little strength I had left to drape my arm around his waist and cuddle into him. I felt his strong arms encircle around me, pulling me against his chest.
I let out a breathless sound, too drained to laugh. "You're unbelievable."
"Oh? And why is that?" he asked while massaging my scalp idly.
"I had always thought my first time was going to be... painful. And you made me... feel things I never imagined I'd feel."
I barely registered his lips pressing against my forehead. "I guess your body is just made for mine, love... our souls were tailored for one another. And it does get even better than this... that I can promise you."
I tried to fight the sleep, but the steadiness of his heartbeat along with the blaze of the fireplace lulled me into a sated doze. I tried to tell myself that if we stayed here when dawn came, we'd be caught by the librarian, or even more embarrassing, his mother. The mere idea of the situation mortified me.
Loki must have been listening to my thoughts because he pushed a strand of hair over my shoulder. "Rest, little one. The feast is still ongoing, and I will have us out of here before dawn. You don't have to worry about us being caught."
I was too exhausted to snap at him and tell him to stay out of my head. I instead gave into the lull of his heartbeat against my ear as it started to slow, and the slow dimming of the fireplace as I gave in to my exhaustion and slipped into the comfort of sleep in his arms.

A kiss under the evening sun 🌾☀️
Sif!Reader x Ror Thor
➩ You and Thor after a long day at Valhalla's court finally are let free! You suggest a picnic to Thor, because you know he loves food and nothing more then to spend the rest of his day with you. But he wonders how you'd be able to set one up so quickly?
➩ Reader type: Female reader.
⚠: Just wholesome romantic fluff!
A/N: Hope you enjoy it, it's my first little story after all!! <3
After a lengthy meeting in the majestic court of Valhalla, Thor and Y/n emerged, the weight of their responsibilities momentarily lifted.
The couple stepped into the golden glow of the late afternoon, holding each other's hands tightly. The air was filled with a strange warmth and sense of excitement.
Y/n, with her long hair flowing in the celestial breeze, turned to Thor with a mischievous smile.
"How about we escape the formality for a while and enjoy a peaceful picnic in the fields?"
Y/n suggested, lovingly lifting the hand she had held Thor's hand with, to cup his strong face.
Thor, ever the warrior with a heart that longed for simple joys, agreed enthusiastically in his own way, his unchanging face remains the same.
Though for y/n he would crack a small grin, even blush at the touch of the goddess he loved and admired so much.
"A picnic sounds..splendid! But how do you plan to organise it on such short notice?" he asks, his yellow eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Y/n chuckled to herself, the golden jewellery she wore around her wrists clicking softly against the keys she kept hanging off her side.
"Fear not, my dear Thunderer. For I have orchestrated many tea parties and picnics, I know a thing or two about creating delightful gatherings."
"Heh, If you say so y/n..i believe you~"
Thor grunts happily, his grin still remaining. Y/n really did bring joy and more of a purpose to his life.
Later when they strolled through the celestial fields, a place they had originally met a long time ago.
Y/n brought out a basket filled with fruits, nectar from the divine flowers, and an assortment of heavenly treats.
All things she knew Thor would enjoy after such a long day!
A blanket appeared beneath y/n's fingertips, woven with threads from the golden looms of Asgard.
Y/n smiles proudly as she watches Thor's eyes widen in surprise.
"When were you able to do this love..?"
Thor asks once more, rather confused that he hadn't seen this side of her abilities. Y/n just winks at Thor, ever so gleeful to have taken Thor by surprise.
She knew how unpredictable she could be, but that's what made her so interesting and for Thor to keep his attention on her.
"Looks like you'll have to pay more attention to me now, huh~?"
Under the radiant sun of Asgard, Thor and y/n found the perfect spot with a gorgeous view of the golden fields surrounding them.
They sat down together on top of the gold woven blanket and with y/n's magical touch, she adorned the surroundings with long crops that seemed to dance around them. Pulling the godly couple closer.
The mighty god of thunder watched in awe as y/n effortlessly transformed the space into a haven of tranquillity.
Thor felt his cheeks flush red like his long locks, his heart beat raising and a familiar warmth build up inside his muscular body.
"By my father's beard, you truly are a marvel, y/n" Thor exclaimed, admiration gleaming in his piercing yellow eyes.
Y/n grinned, her basket at her side as she settled onto the blanket. "A god's skills extend beyond the battlefield, my dear. Now, let us relish in what I've packed us."
Y/n was going to reach into the basket to pull out the fruits and snacks, but before she was able to put them on the golden blanket, Thor's tall and muscular frame leaned over y/n's smaller body.
Thor reached out, his fingers gently tracing the side of Y/n's face. A mixture of vulnerability and passion played across his strong features.
Y/n couldn't help but soften in response to Thor's touch. Without uttering a word, Thor leaned in, their warm soft lips meeting in a kiss.
It was a merging of two souls bound by destiny. The world around them seemed to fade away as they lost themselves in the embrace, surrounded by the rustling crops and the fading light of day.
The kiss lingered, a testament to the depth of their connection. When they finally pulled away, a silent understanding passed between them.
No words were needed to express the complex emotions that had woven themselves into the fabric of that shared moment. As they stood together in the field of crops, bathed in the dying sunlight.
"I love you so much Y/N..now let us feast~♡"

Part 3 has been completed :D!!! This one isn't too different from canon I think, but I do believe these two fit the roles perfectly :D
Odile - Takes Alfred's place. Much of her backstory remains the same, having traveled from Ka Bue to Vaugarde to find out more about her identity. She would one day come across Isabeau before he had Changed, allowing him into her life and soon getting to mentor him however she is able. While she began her travels researching her history, she set focus on another subject - why was this city so wracked with crime? Was it because of the King or are there more factors at play? Odile is very experienced in combat, having fought many a battle and having received a scar on her face from the King once. Mostly the same chill mom as canon, MUCH more tired and a bit more attached to Isabeau however.
Euphrasie - Takes James Gordon's place. Serving as the Head Housemaiden since her predecessor had been assassinated, Euphrasie holds on tight onto her belief that even the darkest countries can be saved, that even monsters can find salvation. The House of Change runs similarly to canon, but also like a rehabilitation center - taking inmates and eagerly seeking to redeem them or find peace for them even if they choose not to convert to Change. While sweet and considerate, Euphrasie is not one to retreat in combat, and is amongst the strongest warriors in the House - aiming to be even more proactive since Siffrin's attempted hijacking of the House, and his attack on Mirabelle. She also seems to know a dark secret behind The King - he seems to be using something never seen before, a new Craft perhaps, to keep himself powerful...
Next part is gonna be the trickiest one, so hopefully it lives up to the rest :D
Part 1: Isa and Sif ( HERE! )
Part 2: Mira and Bonnie ( HERE! )
Part 3: Odile and Euphrasie (here!)

Reaching Out
Masterlist / Main Masterlist
Asgard 2011
"We need to go get Thor," Hogun said
"It is treason." Sif pointed out
"We will need Astri as well. I'm sure Thor will wonder if she does not come." Volstagg said
"And how do you propose we get her? She lives practically under Loki's thumb. I'd bet he has guards watching her 24/7, reporting to him if she even so much as breaks a nail." Fandral pointed out, "I love Astri as much as all of you but she has always been closest with Loki. Getting her to go against his orders will be impossible."
"Astri is her own woman. She can do as she pleases, Loki does not hold her back." Sif defended, knowing her friend had defied the trickster many times in the past.
"We should not speak so loudly of treason. Heimdall might be listening." Fandral said
The doors opened to a guard entering.
"Heimdall demands your presence." The guard says "He also commands you to leave Astri here."
Sif followed the Warriors Three towards the Bifrost. They passed the library as they exited the castle. Oh how easy it would be to call to her friend who was most likely buried in a book on magic or histories of the surrounding realms. She cast one more look at the doors to the library before continuing, Astri would be fine, everyone in the castle knew Loki was enamored with her. Well, everyone except Astri and Loki who had been dancing around each other for hundreds of years.
⋆⭒˚。⋆
Astri closed the book on mind linking with a heavy sigh. She was learning all sorts of new methods she hadn't been able to try since her and Loki's fight. She had reached out and tried to see what he was doing with his day but there was nothing. Sure, she could feel his presence and that he was alive but he never let her in to see exactly what he was doing or where he was.
Odin's room was quiet when Astri entered. Frigga was asleep by his side, her head resting on the golden frame of the bed. Her queen's dedication to her husband was admirable, Astri hoped to one day have someone to devote herself to the way Frigga did Odin. She sat down on the other side of Odin's bed frame. He looked rather peaceful as he lay there as still as a corpse. She was never close to Odin, he had preferred to spend more time with Thor and Loki, mainly Thor, when they were children. Still, there were moments when he had acted as her father figure and not just as her king. Astri smiled as she remembered the time he had chased her first boyfriend off after he had disrespected Astri's combat skills.
"Are you ever going to wake again? Loki sits on your throne and I fear he might just plunge us all into war." Astri softly said, her back turned to the sleeping Allfather.
The large fire on the wall behind them crackled as Astri observed the ornate door that the Allfather had. Golden flowers and vines adorned its metalwork. She would hear Frigga shifting behind her, breaking the peacefulness of the room.
"Astri." Frigga said, her voice laced with worry, "Get up. Get Loki, bring him here now."
Astri turned to Frigga, she was confused as to why they needed Loki who was on her last nerve. Frigga opened her mouth to explain but the crackle of the fire was replaced with the hiss of ice forming and taking over the beautiful door Astri had admired. Said doors nearly went flying from the frame when two huge Frost Giants stalked into the room. One of them Astri recognized from their impromptu trip to Jotunheim with Thor.
Frigga made the first move as she cut at one of the Frost Giant's legs with a sword. His large hand swooped at her before she could make her next move and she went flying across the room.
"A child guards the King of Asgard." the one Astri was sure was Laufey, Loki's birth father said.
Laufey pointed at her and his soldier came charging at her, ice sword drawn. He was quick but Astri was quicker. She let a sharp burst of power shoot from her hands, and the Frost Giant went flying into the large fire behind him. Screams of horror filled the room as he tried to get up, the fire hissed as his cool temperature began to put it out.
"I don't think so," Astri said, directing her magic so the fire would roar once more.
The frost giant screamed in pain as he burned to death, Astri's magic fueling the flames and keeping him from getting up.
"Know that your death came at the hands of Laufey."
Shit. She forgot all about Laufey. She quickly turned to see him ready to kill the Allfather. A sharp blast stopped her from making her move to burn Laufey to death like his friend.
"And your death came at the son of Odin."
Loki! Astri had never been so glad to see him and his giant helmet-clad self.
"You saved him!" Frigga exclaimed, rushing to hug her son
" I swear to you Mother, they will pay for this." Loki promised before looking at Astri, " Are you alright?"
Astri nodded glancing back at the charred body of the Frsot Giant she had killed. Loki's eyes widened at the sight, looking back and forth between the girl he hadn't factored into his plans and the freshly dead body. Astri could sense a comment coming from his mouth but the doors burst open again and Astri immediately turned, ready to burn another giant for daring to harm her family. Instead, she was met with a newly restored Thor, hammer and all.
"Thor!" She smiled as Frigga ran to her eldest, embracing him
Astri hugged him as well as he entered the room fully. He seemed distracted as he glared at Loki, not focused on reunions at all.
"Have you told them? How you sent the destroyer to kill our friends, to kill me?" Thor asked
Astri looked at Loki whose face seemed to paint the perfect picture of guilt. It couldn't be. Loki wouldn't. He had never been close with Sif and the warriors and Thor was a whole different story but he wouldn't try to kill them right? Her Loki was good, he had just saved Odin from certain doom for crying out loud.
"I must have been following Father's last command," Loki said, his spear raised, ready to defend against Thor.
Astri looked at Frigga who was distraught, looking between her two sons who were ready to tear each other apart.
"You're a talented liar, brother." Thor mocked
"It's good to have you home. Now I must destroy Jotunheim." Loki said
Before anyone could blink, Loki had Gungnir let out a strong blast. sending Thor through the walls and out of the castle. Astri gasped and ran to the hole Thor had left in Odin's room. Loki was moving quickly to the doors and she ran to block him.
"Tell me he's lying." She commanded, "Tell me that Thor's words of you trying to kill him was all some sick joke you dreamed up."
Loki's answer was only silence as he stared at her. Astri felt her eyes well with tears as she punched at his chest.
"How could you?" She cried angrily as Loki caught her hands in his.
"I have my reasons. I'll let you know all of them when I reach my goals, I promise." Loki said letting her go.
"And what of the Frost Giants today and on Thor's coronation? Did you have a hand in that?" She asked wiping at her eyes.
"How else would they have gotten into Asgard? Heimdall certainly didn't let them in." He said before stepping around her and walking away
Astri couldn't believe what he had just admitted. She knew Loki was one for tricks and mischief but attempting cold-blooded murder? She never dreamed he'd do all of this just for the throne. She raced after him as he moved quickly down the hall.
"You're a traitor!" She shouted "A monster!"
Loki froze when the words left her mouth and Astri couldn't tell if she regretted it. All she knew was that she couldn't let him destroy Jotunheim over a conflict he had organized all by himself. Her moral compass outweighed her guilt as her magic flew at Loki. It hit him in his back and he fell to the ground, hard. Astri walked to him as he pulled himself up.
"What are you doing?" He seethed, angry that she had knocked him down
"Saving innocent lives." She said, ready to let another blast free at any moment
"So am I. They would have rebelled eventually! Do you want to see Asgardian children frozen where they stand? Dead because of a war I can prevent?" Loki asked
"You don't know that!" Astri argued
"You're just like everyone else. You don't see the bigger picture. Don't you get it? I'm not doing this for a throne. Why do you think I saved Odin?" Loki questioned
"You do a lot of things that don't make sense to me. " Astri said, ready to knock him down again
"They will, soon," Loki said sincerely
Astri hadn't expected Loki's fist to come at her as fast as it did but by the time she had registered it, it was too late. A loud crunch of her bones was all she heard before everything went dark.
Months later, Asgard 2011
Astri had spent the past months bored. The castle she had grown up in sometimes felt like a prison rather than a home. Her face had healed up perfectly after Loki had knocked her out. The break in her nose had been clean, calculated almost and the healers that helped her said there'd be no issues with it in the future. Now, she spent her days reading, training with Sif, and talking with Thor who felt Loki's absence just as much as she did.
"So this mortal of yours, she's what Midgard calls a scientist?" Astri asked in between bites of food.
She and Thor had begun eating dinner together each night, something she used to do with Loki.
"Yes. She's quite brilliant. Heimdall says she's searching for me." Thor replied
Astri sadly smiled. Ever since Thor had destroyed the Bifrost, traveling had been completely cut and the only way to see into other worlds was through Heimdall. Sure, Loki had his secret passages but had never bothered to share them with anyone.
"And what of that fellow you've been meeting with, in the markets?" Thor asked
Astri blushed at his words. She had thought she was being more secretive about that.
"It's nothing. I think I just need to talk to someone that isn't you, Sif, or Frigga." She waved him off
"Well, you ought to tell him that. Those flowers he sent to your chambers the other day are telling a different tale." Thor laughed
"When the hell did you become so observant?" Astri groaned and covered her face with her hands.
"I've always been like this...I'm just that good." Thor explained
"How is it you go to Midgard and come back more humble yet somehow weirder?" Astri asked
"What do you mean I've always been like this." He shrugged
Gods Thor was going to actually drive Astri insane one day.
⋆⭒˚。⋆
Astri had bid Thor goodnight after they finished eating. She was feeling tired after all her training with Sif today. Her friend never pulled her punches and thanks to that Astri was sure she'd have bruised on her skin for the next century. Beyond her physical exertion, Astri had a routine each night. It would start with a warm bath, followed by letting Drifa help her oil her hair while they talked about their lives. Drifa did most of the speaking since she had met a wonderful woman recently and were seeing each other. Astri supplied the doom and gloom to the conversation by often bringing up how tired she was of the calm that had followed Loki's demise. Following all of that, Astri would sit on top of her bed and search for him. For Loki.
"Tonight, I'll find you." She whispered to herself and closed her eyes.
She always tried to remain hopeful but there was nothing but darkness as usual. Whatever was left of Loki, if he was even alive was unreachable to her.
"Please. Just a glimpse." She pleaded to her empty room
A sharp pain fluttered across her face, followed by a flash of unbearable heat. Murmured voices joined the fray as Astri tried to focus on what she was feeling and hearing. Was this Loki? Or had she accidentally ended up in someone else's mind? Darkness was all she could see but whoever was speaking, their voice grew clearer the more she focused. Pained gasps followed another hot flash of something that felt as though her mind was melting.
"Do it again. He can handle it."
And so we have reached the end of the first Thor movie. If you take a quick look at the summary for this story you will see that I have added warnings for this story. I do suggest going to the masterlist of this story to read them. I have decided to change that and it will include both smut (hehe everyone's fave ) and suicidal/self-harm scenes. Material like this will be marked and have individual warnings when it pops up.

Prompt #25: Perpetuity
The wind rushed past him. Colors bled into an unintelligible stream of light. A swirl of sight and sound that lasted for just as long as he could stay lost somewhere between the air and the water below- Which rushed to take him in its gentle embrace.
It’d be easy to think that the swim back to shore was his least favorite part of his life. To climb his way to incredible heights, at times clawing his way up them. To crest the peak of it and stare out upon the distance and the sky and the setting sun. To throw himself from it to experience the greatest thrill any person alive could, feeling every piece of him come alive from the sheer rush of it. To sink deep into the waters below and come to something of a kind of peace. Of course. He’s had those thoughts a million times by now. It was an easy, constantly satisfying routine. At this point there were coastlines off of Vylbrand that he could count every stone. Trace every crack in the cliff as he was falling. And name every plant as he climbed up once again. It was familiar. It was comforting. It was, in some ways, a calming piece of a hobby meant only for the absolutely fucking nuts. And he was pretty high on that scale. So. The swim back to shore.
He let the roll of a wave pull him in towards the shoreline until he could get his feet down and steady in the sand. His hair pushed back to get seawater out of his eyes, his drenched shirt pulled off and wrung out once he could finally stand, his boots yanked off so they could drain out for a little while. The whirl of the wind was still in his ears as he watched Sif while away the mid-day sun with the latest of their takes- Swiped coconuts from a merchant and a few jars of lye that would shore up the stockpile for the next few moons. He could feel the salt on his skin as she looked up at him. A wave of the spoon from in front of their fire. A roll of her eyes as she saw him stripping before he could even make it all the way out of the water. “Y’ really think yer gonna be doin’ this forever, Walker?” She shouted out, the spoon pointed at him in that judgemental way that only a wooden spoon could really manage. “Tha’s the plan, lass! That’s the plan.” She clicked her tongue as she returned to stirring the pot whilst he slowly made his way across hot sand and rock to reach her. His shirt badly tethered to a makeshift line, his boots dropped onto a flat rock in the sun, a towel pulled into his hands and left to sit on his head while he dried off.
“How far along are y’ yet, lass?” He bumped her- she bumped him back before making a noise of frustration that he was still wet- and looked over the edge of the pot. “Ain’t far. Since we’re settin’ up early fer yer fun li’l death defyin’ hobby- yer still a maniac, by th’ way- I fig’red I’d just get us started. Yer gonna be takin’ over soon enough anyways.” She tapped the spoon a couple of times over the pot before chucking another piece of wood into the flames underneath. “I need m’ beauty rest.” “Yer beauty rest.” “Aye, y’ain’t the only one here needin’ enough sleep t’ stay pretty an’ prime fer public appearances.” “An’ ‘ere I thought you were jus’ naturally funny lookin’ all the time. Now yer sayin’ y’ have t’ work to look like tha’?” He got whacked with a boot. “Alrigh’, alrigh’ jus’- Jus’ ‘and m’ the damn spoon an’ get yer clown-y sleep y’ darlin’ lass-” He got whacked with the other boot.
The swim back to shore, if you took everything individually, was certainly not the best part of the whole event. Salt water all over him. Drenched clothes. The annoying task of fighting the waves and the tide as he made his way back to land. But he supposed (inwardly, at least. It’s not as if anyone was having this conversation with him.) that if taken as a part of the whole moment, the whole day, the moment from climbing up to starting over again… He glanced into the pot as the oil within slowly started to thicken. He pulled it off the heat for a moment as he searched for their jar of lye crystals… An eyeballed handful and another toss onto the fire for stirring.
Yeah. He liked this part. “That’s the plan, lass,” He murmured to himself. Even as the salt stuck to his skin. Even as she laid against a tree, hat over her face. “That’s the plan.”

Rest. When the body heals. When the mind slows down. A day of stress and pain and heartache is made to pause for a few hours so one can gather strength to face more horrors.
We know Kratos has fitful rest often. When he dreams it is always a warning. And when he doesn't, rest is just a state where he does not exist in the world. As a God he doesn't need it every day, but it can help when his mind is troubled.
For Atreus, rest always comes with the risk of prophetic dreams. It is worse than his father, but likely just like his mother. He was raised believing he needed daily rest. He still struggles with the mentality that it isn't always necessary but it isn't bad either.
Freya has suffered sleepless nights for so many years that she finds it difficult to rest at all. She works tirelessly for weeks before collapsing from exhaustion. It is the only way to avoid the nightmares.
Freyr is similar the his sister. He is still haunted by the abuse of the Aesir and the nightmares linger even after centuries have passed. So he will often turn to herbs and mead to find proper rest.
Thor only sleeps when he drinks. And it never feels like proper rest. He always wakes feeling more exhausted than ever. Unless Sif convinces him to lay with her as she runs her fingers through his hair and sings very softly to him. If he's lucky, Thrúd will crawl in between them and cling to her father, complaining about nightmares of mean giants, asking him to protect her from her dreams. Only then does he find true rest.
Týr has to meditate to avoid throwing himself out of bed when a nightmare shakes him violently from his rest. He has to calm his mind and put his memories of the prison cell away before he can attempt sleep. Sometimes he doesn't bother trying and spends several weeks traversing the nine realms to stave off exhaustion.
Baldur sleeps like the dead. It doesn't seem to affect him the way it does everyone else. But the night is empty and silent and ever so boring so he just sleeps like them. Rest is not an option, just a far away dream.
They say rest is not for the wicked, but they find it easier than most. The conscious makes everything difficult when your life is filled with horror, pain, and regret. But everyone needs rest. Else we may never find the peace we yearn for.

I hope that in the next God of War game, if we see Kratos, Mimir, Freya, and the rest I’d like to see Freya get her cats! In myth she has cats that lead her chariot and I’d think they’d be a gift from Sif maybe, as a peace offering of sorts between Vanaheim and fallen Asgard.

Who are your top ten favorite Thor characters? Why are they your faves?
Hello 👋🏼😄 and wow what an interesting question! I’m going to based the Thor characters based on the comics and the movies as well!
1. Jane Foster -When I first was in middle school, my school had a book about all the comic heroes and she was on there. And something about her story really stuck with me. I thought “wow this character is so cool! I think she’s my favorite superhero” Then of course I watched Thor and I figured out that Jane Foster was played by none other than the fantastic Natalie Portman who I knew because before being a Marvel fan I was a huge Star Wars fan and I thought Padmé was so cool. And over time as I started watching more movies with Jane and finally last year getting most of the Mighty Thor comics, she is by far my favorite superhero and character in Marvel. She represents what a hero should be in my opinion.
2. Thor - Now when I watched Thor I was really fond of him. I loved how he saved the people of Jane’s town despite knowing them for about a couple days. I really loved MCU Thor mostly. Chris Hensworth did a fantastic job as Thor. No one could have done it better. I love Thors kind and compassionate heart and his need to help others. His backstory as well is so interesting! To this day, Thor remains one me of my favorite Avenger!
3. Darcy - I know she’s not part of the comics but one of the best parts of the first and second Thor movies for me was Darcy’s humor and how sassy she was. And I love how she became a doctor like Jane in Wandavision. Overall she was such a fun and relatable character that kept me laughing!
4. Freya/Frigga - One of the things I loved about reading the Thor comics was whenever Thors mother Freya was on. She is such a fascinating character. She’s intelligent, a good queen and mother and overall a badass! I always loved her relationship with Thor and I feel like we never got enough of that in the Thor franchise. And side note I also loved her friendship with jane and how they are always there for each other! I really wished we had more of Freya in the movies because she’s just so amazing
5. Heimdall - I love Heimdall in the movies and in the comics. I loved the bond that he and Thor shared throughout the movies and comics. And I love how he was sort of like a second father to Thor and Loki. What makes me sad is that both versions end up dying (rip Heimdall) I hope we do see more of him though!
6. Roz Solomon - Roz Solomon is so underrated in the comics! She’s an amazing SHIELD agent who’s such a badass! I loved the relationship she and Jane had especially! It just felt so natural and they greatly respected each other! One of my favorite parts in the comics is when Jane tells her she’s Thor showing how she trusts her and Roz goes “can everyone stop turning into things now” Overall such a sassy, awesome character! I was sad when we didn’t see much of her in the Valkyrie series!
7. Fandral - I remember reading both the comics and watching the first Thor I never really payed attention to the warrior three. But recently I watched the dark world thanks to @beheworthy 😄 and Fandral kept making me laugh the whole time. And I love Zachary Levi too so that made it even better! And then I reread some of my thor comics he was briefly in and he was great in that too. He’s just an overall funny character!
8. Volstagg - Out of all the warriors three, in my opinion, Volstagg had the kindest heart. He would help Jane being senator in the Congress of Worlds as well as just being a good friend! The saddest moment he had is when he picked up the War Hammer and was becoming rage full. It made me so sad that kind Volstagg was the War Thor. And he was great in the movies too! Rest in peace Ray Stevenson 😢
9. Sif - I’ve recently been loving Sif! She’s such an amazing warrior as well as protective of Asgard in the movies and in the comics. I love how in the comics they made her the new gatekeeper to replace heimdall. I thought that greatly suited her. She’s truly a fierce fighter!
10. Valkyrie (Brunhilde) - Valkyrie’s death killed me in war of the realms. I was not expecting her to die so horribly in War of the Realms. I also really enjoyed Valkyrie in the Marvels! She was really funny and her dynamic with Carol was adorable!
Those are all my favorite characters in the Thor franchise. I also decided to make a list of characters I liked the least in the Thor franchise
1. Odin - I HATE HIM SO MUCH! I am not even kidding you I despise Odin I could write a whole essay on why I hate him (perhaps another time) but my blog is an Odin hate blog. He’s at the top of the list for a variety of reasons I won’t list right now.
2. Loki - I’m only putting Loki on here because I love to hate him. Loki was never really one of my favorites when I first became a marvel fan but I just love to hate him. That’s the only reason why im putting him on here.
But thank you so much @zndr315-blog for asking me this! I’ve never really gotten to list my favorite Thor characters so thank you! 😄🙌🏼

“...Hey, is it just me, or are the Sadnesses being really weird?”
Isabeau glances back at Bonbon, who shuffles their feet across the stone floors. They look almost... nervous- not that Isa blames them. Something seems horrifically off about this whole thing to him, too.
Ever since encountering that one Sadness, Sif’s been acting as odd as the Sadnesses.
The blobs run at the sight of him, cowering into corners when they pass, sometimes running right into them in their haste to escape.
Sif seems different too. There’s a wild look in their eyes whenever the group fights a Sadness, undercut only by a bone-deep tiredness.
It’s worrying to Isa. But there’s nothing he could do.
“I agree, Boniface. The Sadnesses are acting oddly. They seem to be scared of something... Or someone,” M’dame says, and even Isa can feel the pointedness of her stare- directed at Sif.
Sif says nothing, but their hand drifts to the dagger belted at his waist. The other shoves itself into one of his many pockets, no doubt to squeeze at the silver coin tucked away there.
(. . .)
Distracted, he runs right into a fleeing Sadness. He curses, drawing his dagger. The others fall suit as the Sadness shifts and bubbles, changing into its ‘true’ form.
Isa curses the crabs as he catches sight of what it is. One of the ones that can stop time, it is. Good thing they have Mirabelle.
The fight drags on, painfully long. The stupid Sadness turned to be stronger than they thought, and they’re starting to run low on tonics.
And at one horrific, terrifying point, the Sadness cries out, and Sif goes still.
Isa’s blood turns to ice as he cries out. Sif has been frozen, oh crab oh stars Mirabelle is unconcious and they don’t have any sweet tonics what the crab are they supposed to do Sif has been frozen
In a moment of delirious clarity, Isa realises how peaceful Sif looks. Like he’s sleeping. If not for one hand slightly outstretched, as though to grab something, Isa might have thought they fell asleep standing up again.
No. They look too washed out, too pale and death-like to be asleep. His hair floats around him, and the Craft Spell placed on him shines like crystals in their hair.
They look peaceful. They look like they’re resting. They look more serene and calm than Isa remembers seeing him in a long while- even last night in the Clocktower, there was an air of unease to him that Isa prays wasn’t because of him.
...What would happen, Isa wonders, if he got frozen too? If right here, in this moment, they were frozen together?
He immediately feels sick towards himself for thinking that way. What a stupid, selfish desire. What would Sif say, if he could speak now?
Could Sif even see him? Could he hear, could he...
Isa steps back, hearing that heart-stopping cry again. One of them is about to be frozen, and he’d sooner carve out his own heart than let Bonnie or M’dame take the hit when he’s right there, perfectly able to take the brunt of it all.
He shields M’dame with his body, and the world goes dark.
(. . . No.)
(No, you won’t let it end this way. No, your friends won’t die. Mirabelle, Odile, Bonnie. . .)
(Isa. Stars, Isa.)
(He got himself frozen in time because he didn’t want anyone else getting hurt. He’s kind and brave and-)
(If you could loop back just a minute or two, force yourself to right before you were frozen and Mirabelle was knocked unconscious...)
(. . .)
(You feel a tugging in your gut.)
(You close your eyes, focusing on healing Mirabelle up. You pour every ounce of energy into it.)
(As a result, you stumble a bit. Isabeau’s strong arm catches you, then immediately... He moves.)
(You don’t think about it. You don’t think about how warm he is compared to how freezing you are. You don’t think about how his first instinct was to catch you. You don’t think about how things might change if you were just a little closer to him in the Clocktower, if you were just a little more insistent.)
“SIFFRIN!”
(Isa tries to warn you, his hand outstretched to grab you. Your stomach drops at the memory. You’ve been here before you’ve tried this before it didn’t work before-)
(You’re back in the field with everyone. The stars above twinkle, like they’re all smiling down on you.)
(You look away.)
(Meanwhile, everyone else is laughing and smiling and passing food around. Occasionally, they smile at you, ask you what you think in a conversation.)
(Isabeau looks at you. He has that bright smile on his face, his eyes soft and sparkly. He’s thanking you, and you can feel your heartbeat stutter in your chest. This is different. You didn’t have this reaction the first time.)
(Is this a memory, or did you loop? Will you wake up from this moment back in the King’s Castle, forced to continue on?)
(. . .)
(Do. . . You even want to leave. . .?)
(Do you really want to leave this moment with all your friends, knowing they love you in this time, this place?)
(You don’t answer yourself. The air around you shifts, and Isabeau looks panicked, reaching out for you again.)
(You don’t know how much longer you can keep grabbing at empty air.)
. . .
“SIFFRIN!”
Isa wants to sob. He wants to scream and cry and and and and
. . .
Siffrin won't tell them anything. He’s suffering in silence. Isa knows something is happening and Siffrin won’t say a crabbing word-
Nothing about the House feels new anymore. He follows the weird feeling of being on a script, saying the same things- whatever that means. It seems to comfort Siffrin. That’s what’s important.
Even those Tears Bonnie tells the group about doesn’t surprise him anymore. He almost died, big woop.
They continue on through the House, following their own scripts and saying their own lines. It feels unnatural. It feels weird.
It feels like something needs to be changed.
. . .
“SIFFRIN!”
He reaches, desperate, frantic. Please please please let him reach them in time please let him save them this time please he can’t lose them again please please please-
. . .
Isabeau doesn’t know how much longer he can keep grabbing at empty air.
maverick. whatever do you mean that isabeau also feels like he’s following a script. mav. mav are you making isa loop

Loki meta. So much Meta. Part 1.
Loki’s story started with one simple plan: stop Thor’s coronation.
Sure, there would be collateral damage—the Destroyer would kill a handful of Frost Giants. A few lowly guards might die before the Destroyer did its work. But he deemed that acceptable. Because it would give him what he wanted: to prove to his father that the golden child, the favoured one, their heir wasn’t ready to be king. Might never be. And that he, the second son, was more than just the spare. That he was fit for more than standing in his brother’s shadow for the rest of eternity, offering wise council to temper Thor’s arrogant, reckless, dangerous nature. To be bound to a life of constraining, only existing for the sake of the growth of those around him.
Things were never supposed to get so out of hand. They should never have reached Jötunheimr. He wasn’t supposed to allow Thor to bring Asgard to the brink of war after a thousand years of hard-won peace. He hadn’t intended Thor to be stripped of his rank, title, powers, and abilities and cast out, banished until he could learn humility.
He wasn’t supposed to learn that there was a reason he would never be more than what he was. That his parents had protected him from the truth because they never wanted him to feel different and apart. But it hurt because even when he believed himself to be Frigga’s son, Odin’s son, just as worthy as Thor and born to be a king, he was different. He had always been held different and apart.
He wasn’t supposed to in his explosion of grief and anger send Odin into the Odinsleep—a coma from which he may never wake. He wasn’t supposed to hurt his family. But once he had, he did absolutely everything he could do to keep them from finding out. He couldn’t bear the shame and regret, to be judged for his choices and lose what little standing he had in their eyes.
He had lost his identity, his sense of self. He didn’t truly know who he was, and what he wanted.
When he was handed Gungnir, and his mother looked at him with respect and love and addressed him as ‘my king’ and told him to make his father proud, Loki mistook that golden throne for what he had always truly desired: Love. Acceptance. Respect. Loki believed that the only way to get what he wanted was by amassing power—and doing anything he could to hold onto it.
He wasn’t supposed to sit on the throne of Asgard. But once he was on that throne, he believed it was his chance at last to prove once and for all he was worthy of the name Odinson, and the throne. And as events spiralled out of control, he asked himself who he was willing to sacrifice to keep what he had and get what he wanted. When he decided the answer was Thor, Sif, his friends, and an entire people—he deemed the loss acceptable. That it was just collateral damage. But it would be worth it, because he would finally have what he wanted. What he deserved. What he was owed.
That was why Odin said ‘No’ as Loki hung suspended over the dark void of space. Dangled off the broken bifröst by the tip of his father’s spear. Because you can’t earn love, respect, and acceptance by paying with someone else’s blood. That there is no such idea as an acceptable loss, victory without sacrifice.
That was why Loki let go. Because annihilation is easy. Leaving is easy. Staying is hard. Hope is hard.
Before this story, you could always trust Loki to act in his own best interests. So over the course of the first season—the swagger, the smarm, the pompousness, the superiority, the entire façade is stripped away. Underneath is someone who hurt other people because he had been hurt and didn't know how not to lash out because he was terrified that he was alone and always would be. He saw an entire drawer full of Infinity Stones mixed in with other flotsam, like the handful of paper clips, bobby pins, and scraps of paper you’d find in any junk drawer. He saw his own brutally short future, and experienced the one thing he wasn’t expecting: ego death.
The journey he was on was one of self-discovery, self-acceptance, taking responsibility for his actions, and finding a new purpose.
Loki makes Sylvie his purpose. At first it was merely a scheme—helping the TVA was just a way to stay alive. But while he worked side by side with Mobius, he became invested. Not just in besting his rival and proving he was the superior Loki. He became invested in the actual problem-solving because Mobius treated him like an equal. He wasn’t the sidekick; they were partners. He made a genuine connection with someone, because he wanted Mobius to believe in him. It gave him a reason to strive to become better, to live up to his expectations.
Then he and Sylvie are stranded on Lamentis and she goes from an abstract concept to a real person. At first all he can see if their differences. But then he begins to look at everything from a different perspective, precisely because they’re so different. When they are about to die, they hold hands and smile because for the first time in both their lives, they are not alone.
So her mission becomes his mission. Her goals become his goals. He feels needed, and has no problem taking a place at her side and following her lead. He puts her life ahead of his own, and would have allowed Alioth to devour him if it gave her the chance to bring the TVA down.
He admits that he had betrayed everyone who had ever cared about him. But he will not betray her, because that’s not who he is. He has changed. For the first time, he is acting selflessly, putting Mobius and Sylvie’s needs above his own. Even as Sylvie is shouting at him to fight her the exact same way he had once done to Thor in Heimdall’s observatory, he drops his sword and puts himself in front of her blade to try and stop her because he genuinely cares about her—but he also is finally seeing the big picture and it’s so much bigger than he’d realised. The stakes are so much higher because he has so much more to lose than before.
And neither of them knew that the TemPad He Who Remains had so conveniently removed from his wrist and placed on his desk, within easy reach was programmed to send Loki hundreds if not thousands of years into the TVA’s past. They didn’t know that he hadn’t been using a ‘time twister’ to avoid their blades. He had been timeslipping right in front of their eyes because he wasn’t ‘just’ a man. He had learnt how to control time itself.
And now, so would Loki.

Just wanted to say your knowledge of movies in general and Thor lore in specific in amazing!
Realistically speaking, can we expect to see Fosterson together again? I still have hope in my heart that we will.
Thank you, Nonny ❤ Your words are very kind! I'm lucky enough to have had some amazing teachers who were able to help me understand story fundamentals... so it's a topic very near and dear to my heart.
And my friend I have a twofold answer. Speaking optimistically, and betting on Thor's success as a standalone franchise, and as an avengers franchise, I do think it's possible. Or in the very least, it's surely possible to at least see Thor again for a fifth (and preferably final) standalone installment.
He's a consistent money-maker. Even Love and Thunder made about as much as the other films in the THOR franchise, with each film grossing about 3.75 times the production budget of each film. (Fun fact: Thor (2011) and Thor: Love and Thunder both made ~3.0 times the production budget, versus Dark World that did 4.3 times better, and Ragnarok that did 4.7.) Critically, his worst film is L+T at 63%. This is actually worse than Dark World which sits ~67%, and between the two it's pretty clear that L+T is not a fan-favorite, but he DOES make money, and continues to be incredibly well-liked regardless. Something that I'd wager Marvel's Phase 4+ needs. Thor has prestige, and people like him and his actor. He's consistently made profits for Marvel in ALL of his films, so Marvel would be pretty stupid not to double down for a fifth movie and the promise of "thor will return". (And as much as I loathe the film, L+T might have gotten some of the mcu normies to actually bother at least paying attention to Jane, whether it's for good reason or not.) So it's a bit of a no-brainer to bring back a character, and one of the last mcu couples, that is reliable. People like heroes and they like romance. Fosterson is both rolled into one.
Within this thought process, I do think that if Marvel knew what was good for it (...debatable... but again being optimistic) then they would reunite Thor with Jane and the rest of his family where he belongs. Give him that happy ending he so deserves as the final survivor of his original cast (discounting Sif), and of the Avengers' Big Three. No one in the whole of the Avengers franchise deserves a happy ending more than Thor does.
So with that in mind, for Thor's next appearance, either it's bring back Jane similarly to the end of the Mighty Thor comic arc, or have Thor end up in Valhalla where the whole rest of his cast is. Either way, Fosterston fans like you and me would ultimately get what we want (the two reunited). Then it's a matter of "but would it feel earned to the audience who's kept with Thor for the past decade"?
As it stands: Thor is in an odd position where his options are limited, but still technically open as a character. Narratively his story simply will not be finished until he's been put to rest one way or another... Ultimately he needs to find peace, and I think anyone in the MCU fanbase can at least agree that MCU!Thor won't be able to for as long as all of his castmates are dead or otherwise written out of the picture. (Thanks to the decision to write Thor out of Asgard by revoking his birthright he can't even at least have THAT as a reason to keep going.) Even Hemsworth feels as much, whether he'll say it so explicitly or not. ("Thor lost his mind that last one. He’s got to figure it out now.")
Really a reunion should be in a 5th installment, but if they wanted to play it cheap they could maybe wrap up Thor's story in a B Plot or a cameo in whatever they have lined up for Avengers: Secret Wars. Were it up to me I would argue ostensibly that it's a "pick one" situation at this point in time. (and given they might attempt to shoehorn TVA!Loki into meeting MCU!Thor at some point to call that a day, the most profitable answer seems pretty cut and dry.)
Realistically speaking within that...? I think that all depends on Marvel/Disney's budget, and ...honestly, probably Chris Hemsworth on the whole.
There are many shifting variables in Hollywood right now. Lots of budget cuts, cancelled tv shows and films, job losses, etc. While I think the big names and upper league of the industry are going to come out relatively unscathed, I do think that Disney/Marvel may need to slow its productions down, and greatly decrease the quality and quantity in order to survive. That, and, again, the fact of the matter is that the quality of Marvel's Phase 4+ has been pretty hot garbage.
Which then leads me back to the point that: Thor is a decent money maker. He's still got material to work with if they wanted to wrap him/Chris' iteration of him up as they did with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. And this is keeping in mind that Chris Evans, despite Steve's story definitely being wrapped, is willing to come back for cameos in future appearances out of respect and love for his character.
....That said, you'll notice that I mention "respect and love for his character" when mentioning Chris Evans. Frankly, Chris Hemsworth is a bit more of a wild card. I've mentioned it (here), but it seems as though Hemsworth has largely fallen out of love with Thor. Now, when I say that I don't mean that he hates Thor. Thor is a very special character to him. Something he has stated multiple times in interviews — especially since becoming Thor really helped launch his career forward.
... The GOOD news is Chris has commented on coming back for future Thor films.
“Yeah, I think [Marvel] always [teases the characters return in films]. Look, I’m completely open to it, [...] I’ve always loved the experience. I’ve been very thankful I’ve been able to do something different each time.”
The ... BAD news is he's also commented on being largely contented with the character as is (albeit wanting to move on from Taika's take) and otherwise finding him "boring", and that there is not a lot he'd want to do with Thor now that they've spanned the course of ... mostly everything.
“You look at Thor 1 and 2, they were quite similar. Ragnarok and Love and Thunder are similar. I think it’s about reinventing it. I’ve had such a unique opportunity with Infinity War and Endgame to do very drastic things with the character. I enjoy that, I like keeping people on their toes. It keeps me on my toes. It keeps me invested. I’ve said this before but when it becomes too familiar, I think there’s a risk in getting lazy then because I know what I’m doing. So I don’t know."
He, like Evans and Downey Jr. I'm sure, wants a happy ending for his character — and I would argue that absolutely includes Jane, but the course of Disney/Marvel's Phase 4 is uncertain, because they seem to have no plan. Or at least not one beyond "insert cool cameo here"
...And Chris' faith in the character that kickstarted a large portion of his career has seemed to have utterly tanked in recent years especially. (Particularly since it's been rather hot and cold for him. If a film does well and is written wonderfully, then there isn't enough Loki in it so the MCU fanbase decides to go nutty. If it's written poorly with an ill-cast director, it does well. But then when they double down on that ill-casted director people get fed up with it because the Russo Bros. did it better in Infinity War and rightfully so. Though Chris seems to favor the IW depiction too so even he isn't immune.) So it's hard to say whether or not Chris will actually take up another contract, fulfill any that he's (allegedly) previously made or make so much as a cameo appearance to fulfill that "Thor Will Return" we were promised at the end of L+T.
"I have no idea. I've said it before, it all depends on the type of story. It has to be something unique. What I don't want is to do the same with the character until the end, until there is a feeling of exhaustion in the audience. But if there is excitement for it, I am always willing to return. If there is a new story, it has to be something very special. I'm sure there's something exciting to tell, so we'll have to wait and see. You have to wait to find it." "Again, I don’t know if I’m even invited back. But if I was, I think it would have to be a drastically different version in tone, everything, just for my own sanity… (laughs) … Thor lost his mind that last one. He’s got to figure it out now."
I'm afraid that sounds rather dour... but unless we actually get confirmation of a Thor 5, or Thor appearance in the inevitable Avengers movies down the line, it's really just... hard to say. As ever this is all simply hypothetical conjecture based on sheer observation. Though of course, I don't work for Marvel. And even if I did, NDAs exist, so it's not as if I could confirm or deny anything anyways. We simply have to wait and see.
PERSONALLY if I were to take a crack at it, I'd at least give Thor a 5th movie, completely wrap him up in a way that is respectful to his character while also ... attempting to acknowledge and semi-respect what Marvel has already done thus far ... and then leave the rest up to cameo and side character appearances, like what they're doing with Evans and Steve Rogers.
#(though then if it were me i'd have written ragnarok completely differently.... and would /slightly/ tweak-)#(-a few details about dark world but honestly that film is like 95% perfect in my eyes)#(watch me slowly put together a 'thor arc rewritten' hypothetical at this point ansjkfsabkdsabk fix-it fics my beloved)#anyways is this the answer you were looking for nonny? lord if i know#but alas it is what it is from where i'm standing and where it is... is all over the place#we're living in the timeline where everything is a mess. do i think fosterson will get back together? personally? yes.#i think it'd be short-sighted of them to refrain from reuniting them + giving Thor especially one last hurrah.#do i think it's /realistically/ going to happen? debatable. Marvel/Disney has done nothing to make me have faith in them#as a studio and with all of their writers and directors they've hired on ever since phase 3 ended >>;;#thor also unfortunately puts butts in the seats because we all know him and like him and chris is a phenomenal actor#....so ... who knows when they'll actually retire him as they did with steve/chris evans and tony/rdj#&&. whispers#&&. | marvel. |#&&. thor.

This!
However, I do think there's a missed piece of perspective and comparison especially in regards to Thor, Sif and the Warriors Three; with this particular sentence and paragraph:
" Loki is not being sentenced for the deaths of either frost giants or humans, whose lives to Odin are ultimately worthless, but for daring to destroy the Bifrost (yes the job was finished by Thor, but it had been crumbling under the forces brought to bear on Jotunheim) which diminishes Asgardian dominance. "
There's a couple of things overlooked, and it mainly has to do with both severity of both brothers' crimes within that imperial construct: (because yes, they did both commit the same crimes when separated from the familial end of things, regardless of what other spin is put on it) and the on screen facts of how that need for dominance easily formed early on into downright bigotry (among other things) and uneven 'justice' for those who fall out of Odin's approval are made that much clearer by TDW's opening scene.
.1.Thor was not sentenced to death (Loki's original sentence) OR a lifetime of solitary confinement: regardless of his invasion and attack on Jotunheim both breaking the terms of the then existing peace treaty, OR the fact that he and they murdered an unknown number of Jotun while they were there. The war with Jotunheim was declared from Jotunheim's end a thousand five hundred plus years after the treaty: purely because of Thor's acts of invading the planet, murdering their people, and doing so unapologetically. So unapologetically in fact, that he continued to argue with that King as to why he should have done it, since the King (Odin) wasn't.
2. Neither were Sif and the Warriors Three, regardless of their back and forth wishy washy support of that treason: or their continuation OF it, in attempting to bring that same traitor prince back against both the Original King's sentence, AND the interim King (Loki) whom the Queen herself (Frigga) put in his place effectively as Regent-King at the time. (And reminder; they were trying to bring Thor back while the result of above attempt at genocide was still being dealt with: and they knew this.)
3. Heimdall does not get removed from his position, restricted, or replaced for enabling any of this, either: remember, he is the one who sends Thor and the rest off to Jotunheim against the King's orders. And, later on he continues to do this. Not just in Thor 2011, sending them to Earth for Sif & the Warriors Three's fifth or sixth bout of treason, either. While he doesn't personally physically aid them in getting off the planet: Heimdall doesn't stop them, alert anyone, or .. well. Like in Thor one with the Three telling the audience outright what the sentence for Thor and those who followed him to Jotunheim should have been (which they then backtracked on later in the same in the most wishy-washy and tellingly disloyal of ways:) Thor's own line in the scene with Heimdall after the Elves attack, reminds us again how far off that kind of unjust favoritism in Thor's direction was, from what it should have been: " What I am about to ask of you is treason of the highest order. Success shall bring us exile, and failure shall mean our death. "
(Though Heimdall does offer what's either the most contradictory or most telling of lines implying he's started to get a conscience in [if not realization of threat to] the direction of his duty when Thor asks him to do it again in TDW to get Jane off the planet: " I cannot over-rule my King's wishes. " Far the more likely; after it's been sussed out he's done exactly that a minimum of twice in the last two years: and the King has given him a not-so-friendly reminder these two years later at this point. Anyway..)
Anyway, yes.. there's a lot of that.
And a lot of people tend to brush past that too; like it isn't presented as the ruling body of government and law being flaunted and ignored constantly in favor of blooded Asgardians vs the Captive Prince that had been forcibly Fostered against his knowledge as a future political tool; so that he couldn't possibly choose otherwise to begin with, just like China and Europe used to do.
Seriously, look up the oft forgotten difference between adoption and fostering in that scenario: that's a real thing they AND the Game of Thrones author and later show creators took straight out of human imperialist history (GoT example: Theon Greyjoy. RL example: the majority of Korea's 'Kings' and royalty Fostered as Captive Princes etc whilst still either forcibly allied with or under China's 'protection': it took what is now Korea generations to get out from under China's thumb in part as a result of it.)
Side Note, but an important enough one to mention: Political Marriages in the same kidnapping/now-we-have-your-kid flavor were also prevalent across the then known human globe throughout history in similar monarchial hierarchies: and comparing that with what we know now (well if we keep Hela's existence and the timing of her imprisonment alone?) it does raise the currently unanswerable question (the Jenga-Block's EXTRA-troll Odin death timing jeebs) as to whether or not part of the reason Odin and Frigga kept their mouths shut about Loki being an entirely different species; might have been the idea that part of how they likely intended him to keep that peace might have been to marry their only daughter WHO reminder.. was also Odin's strongest and most trusted general during the Great Wars that included Jotunheim.
Well, that would have been viable.. if she hadn't turned out to be the exactly the example of what her only blood sibling, Thor, was heading towards being himself at the beginning of Thor 2011 without Jane's influence: to get literally thrown into Hel instead.. and toss that option of control for Asgard's King (Odin) out the window with that daughter's descent into crazy town, and inevitable imprisonment costing all but one of the Valkyries lives.
But the point is: yes! And absolutely. Too many people forget this, and that this is the kind of world they lived in, as presented directly to us on screen: both in the dialogue and in the other examples visual and otherwise.
Covering up and holding out on things they didn't want to admit to after the fact wasn't a new thing to Asgard with Odin's reign either. They made that very clear with what they did show and tell us about his father Bor in TDW, too. Bor hid the Aether, and by the dialogue from Odin and more concerning both the Dark Elves and the Reality Stone/Juice-stuff: we know very clearly that Bor hid the fact some elves survived AND that he had hidden the stone/juice from the next generations.
Just like Odin, Bor wrote that history as he saw fit rather than in earnesty or honesty (which also made me wonder and realize what else he hid there.. like, why the elves were so displeased with the universe that they took that route at all, or why they waited billions of years after said newer universe was already created, to attempt it only about 5 thousand prior during the previous convergence.) While maybe there could have been some minor excuses for that initially, the obvious ramifications presenting themselves in TDW don't make any sense unless you DO remember and realize that dominating intent is still strong and present that generation back with Bor too.. and likely where Odin got his examples from, as his father.
In any case and regardless.. no. Not just a family, and treating the ruling body of a monarchial government like it's purely a familial construct as a means of forgiving one member (Thor) and damning the Other (Loki, and yes that capitalization is on purpose) is pretty messed up.
I will say this though; it does manage to give those of us paying attention a very telling and interesting view on this side of the screen, of who among the audience still would support and defend that kind of imperialist favoritism over even the closest thing that kind of system could get to just rule in a way, and a view of those who are still learning the difference, or: how cause and effect work, for that matter?
Stranger side observations set back aside though lol.. all the yes, with these additions and more that I haven't gotten into here but, have.
TLDR?: They're BOTH ruling body of an entire planets' government, AND a really messed up family. And while neither should be ignored in context of that story especially? The fact remains that Odin was as shitty a user King as he was a Father.
And this set up was not only intentionally crafted by the creators and writers prior to Gagnarok as a major flaw and something to identfy/overcome; the Thor story corner was aiming for a much better catharsis of a closing point than that awful and dismissive cell and then elevator scene in Jenga Boy's Waititi's mess of a first film, after they had decided to keep Loki post initial filming.
I would have loved to have seen the story actually continue as intended. Too bad we got stuck with that particular director for the fourth installment (yes, that's a link with Taika's interview clippings and more at the time, and more. Again. I probably will stop posting it when it becomes irrelevent. Which so far eight years later isn't looking to happen. Sorry, not sorry.)
Just sayin'.
Odin and the Terrible Horrible No good Very bad Jotun/aelfar
So, I see a lot of people talking about Odin’s treatment of Loki and Thor as though it’s all about the interpersonal family stuff, but this leaves out the dynastic side of the mess. And, as I will argue, it is impossible to understand his motivations without the throne.
Thor himself acknowledges this at the end of TDW when he talks about the perceived similarities between Loki and Odin and his own unfitness for rule.
Odin’s difficulties arise from his assumptions, made when both were babies, about how Thor and Loki would turn out. Odin’s views on other realms can be extrapolated from the narratives he constructs about Asgard’s wars, as presented at the beginnings of both Thor and TDW.
These are cookie cutter duplicates of each other with little variation outside of proper nouns. A brutish enemy threatens the greater Good. Asgard, led by a noble and wise king, defeats them and takes their weapon/cultural artifact which further seals their doom. This is a happy ending.
Thus, Asgardians are universally presented as noble and good with a paternalistic duty to manage the affairs of other realms, and if the other realms don’t realize that, then it is only further proof of their unworthiness. In this scheme of being, it would be “natural” for Thor to be exactly the genocidal tyrant his father and grandfather have been. Also to be expected would be Loki’s inability to compete on equal terms with Thor.
Neither son conforms to expectation. Loki is clever and calculating, using intelligence and magic to compensate for his slighter build. Thor doesn’t fully accept Asgardian cultural ideals. His closest friends include a female warrior, a Vanir warrior, his strange little brother, and two Asgardians who each have exceptionalities from the ideal, theoretically epitomized by Thor.
Let’s take a look at the first movie from the aspect of all of these political factors. Asgard must have political and military dominance in order for there to be peace according to the narrative Odin gives us. What is less obvious but no less present is that that dominance is to be expressed in the person of the Asgardian king. As Asgard is dominant over other realms, so her king is over all the people.
Thor not only disobeys the expressed wishes of his father, in so doing he undermined the authority of the king. In this analysis, Thor’s crime is not merely back talk, but a form of usurpation. His starting a war is not yet a privilege he should have access to, and starting it at that point merely serves to highlight the physical infirmity of the king.
While Thor is dealing with the consequences of having undermined his father’s authority, Loki is discovering his status as Other/non-Asgardian through his parentage. He immediately confronts Odin in the weapons vault to discover the underlying truth of his life. The story Odin spins contradicts itself, but Loki appears barely to notice, as he is making other connections rapidly.
Soon enough, he is ready to demand the base truth of the story -why? Odin’s answer at first seems to confuse the situation further, but in reality, contains the key to understanding Odin’s lie.
The initial story is that Loki, who is revealed to be the son of the frost giant king, Laufey, was abandoned in a temple to die, but was saved by the merciful benevolence of Odin. When asked to explain why, Odin asserts that he hoped to bring a lasting peace through Loki. The contradictions here are glaringly obvious: a child abandoned in a temple? One would typically assume a child, especially one of a king, left in a temple next to a precious artifact during a battle was not put there as an act of infanticide, but in order to protect him from the violence. An abandoned child whose parentage is clear? We are not shown any marks on the swaddling clothes and Loki’s skin markings do not closely resemble Laufey’s. An abandoned child who could be the key to a lasting peace? They were content enough before to let the child die. How does he suddenly gain prominence enough to be the lynchpin of a peace plan?
Asgard must have dominance, in order for there to be peace. So Loki, the lost prince of Jotunheim, is intended to be a puppet king, answering to the will of Asgard’s king. Once we realize that, we look again at the contradictions and realize they are all resolved if Loki was never abandoned. Huh, imagine that. Loki has also been told all his life that he was born to be a king. Adding all this together, the original plan was likely that after Thor was made heir and Loki’s promised throne was unavailable, Odin would lead a war to put Loki on the throne he was meant to occupy. The problems with this plan include Loki’s intelligence and independence. He is not malleable, and would become a rival instead of a puppet. Oops.
Loki is not being sentenced for the deaths of either frost giants or humans, whose lives to Odin are ultimately worthless, but for daring to destroy the Bifrost (yes the job was finished by Thor, but it had been crumbling under the forces brought to bear on Jotunheim) which diminishes Asgardian dominance. Also, he put himself in the position of possibly getting his hands on one of Asgard’s powerful toys. It didn’t matter when Red Skull had the tesseract because he couldn’t challenge Asgard’s preeminence. It mattered a lot when it might be Loki.
Sending Thor to retrieve the tesseract, no doubt after a year spent trying to undo Thor’s unseemly affection for lesser beings such as humans and frost giants, allows him an acceptable way to both prove his prowess in war and to further cement the lessons in Loki’s inferiority.
Leading us to the latest film where Odin’s prejudice and desire for power are more obvious and the ways that plays out. I think part of the plan in depriving Loki of touch was indeed to drive him to psychosis, thus robbing him of his most powerful weapon, his mind, and completing the picture of a mindless frost giant that Loki had never been.
#TLDR at the end#Loki#Thor#Thor 2011#Thor: the Dark World#some Gagnarok references & mentions#Gagnarok#aka Thor: Ragnarok#aka Jenga Block Boys' insult the MCU & it's audience#why only treating them as a family does NOT work#also some of why I absolutely loved the pre-Gagnarok storybuilding
